COVID-19 Testing

We now provide four types of RAPID Testing With Reports Available Within One Hour

  • NAAT Gene-based Molecular Testing (Nuclear Acid Amplification Tests) – now quicker, more precise, but more expensive

  • Protein-based Testing – usually quicker, more readily available

    • Antigen Testing – using a Lateral Flow Device (LFD) with results within 10-15 minutes

  • Antibody Testing

    • Antibodies can be detected using a Lateral Flow Device (LFD) with results within 10-15 minutes to see if you have developed immunity after an infection or vaccination with results in 10-15 minutes

We can perform four kinds of rapid diagnostic COVID-19 tests – two molecular gene-based tests (PCR & NEAR), protein-based Antigen testing and a rapid antibody test.  Direct viral tests are used by providers to diagnose people with or without symptoms related to COVID-19. Either a simple rapid antigen test or a molecular test can be obtained. Sometimes both a gene and protein test are used, depending on the circumstances. Specimen samples are taken from the patient’s nose or throat. Rapid Antigen are ideal for athletic programs, school events and family visits. PCR and NEAR tests are more precise and confirmatory in nature when needed.

If you test positive for COVID-19, our clinical staff will walk you through the next steps. Depending on your symptoms, you might be advised to self-isolate at home or go to the emergency room if necessary. We will check in with you daily to monitor your progress.

Antibody tests check your blood by looking for antibodies, which may tell you if you had a past infection with the virus or confirm that you have been vaccinated.
